A new trailer for Pokemon Scarlett and Violet has been revealed during the Pokémon World Championship

The Pokemon Company wraps up the 2022 Pokemon World Championship with a new trailer for Pokemon Scarlett and Violet.

As per the setting, this video focuses almost entirely on the competitive battle mechanics, featuring a handful of new moves, items, and Terastallizing.

The trailer begins with a new Pokemon: Cyclizar, a disposable Pokemon dragon that looks like the games’ legendary amulets, Koraidon and Miraidon. Cyclizar is able to learn a new move called Shed Tail, which creates an alternate and then exchanges places with different Pokémon in your group.

The trailer also features two new items that you can equip your Pokémon with during battle. The Mirror Herb will copy the opponent’s stat increases, while the loaded dice makes it more likely that multi-hit moves, such as Bullet Seed, will be hit more than once.

Finally, the trailer provides another look at the new battle mechanic featured in Terastallizing, Scarlet and Violet. As previously revealed, Pokemon can change species when they Terastallize, which can dramatically change the course of the battle. Coalossal, a fire/rock type, can become a water type after Terastallizing, which facilitates the activation of steam engine power.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet launches for the Nintendo Switch on November 18. Anyone who buys a copy before February 28, 2023 will receive a ticket Pikachu special reward.
