“Venom 3” sequel, “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” is in the works at Sony

Get ready for more Venom.

Sony Pictures got the green light for the third installment in the Tom Hardy-led “Venom” movie series, after consecutive box office successes in 2021’s “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” ($502 million worldwide) and 2018’s “Venom” ($856 million). dollars (worldwide).

Jason Reitman directed “Ghostbusters: Afterlife,” taking over from his father, Evan Reitman, who directed the original 1984 “Ghostbusters” movie. He made the first film—which featured Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Harold Ramis as parapsychologists in discovery.
