Milwaukee Bucks Forwards khris middleton And Bobby Portez All were out with injury on Wednesday against the Chicago Bulls and never came back as Milwaukee lost 114-110.
Middleton slipped on a trip to the basket during the fourth quarter of Game 2 of this first-round series, now tied 1-1, and began favoring his left leg. He tried to stretch and flex his leg on the sidelines before heading to the locker room. The team announced later this quarter that he would not be returning.
Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer said after the game that Middleton had suffered a sprain in his MCL and was due to undergo an MRI on Thursday.
Middleton scored 18 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds in 33 minutes for the Bucks.
Portis hit the face with an elbow from the Bulls Center Tristan Thompson While the two climbed to bounce during the first quarter. No foul was counted in the play, but Portis fell to the ground after contact and was bleeding near his right eye after the play.
Portis tried to warm up briefly after the break but only stayed on the field for a short while before heading back to the locker room. Soon after the third quarter began, the Bucks ruled him out for the rest of the game with right eye wear.
Portez scored two points and grabbed a rebound in six minutes.
The injury news wasn’t much better before the NBA champion’s second game. Budenholzer said during the preceding period of the media provide that veteran goalkeeper George Hill He wasn’t expected to return anytime soon from the abdominal strain that prevented him from playing the series.
“We don’t expect it in the short term,” Budenholzer said.
Budenholzer said the problem was unrelated to the neck injury that caused Hill to miss 17 games earlier in the season. Hill said after returning from that injury that he was dealing with a partial tear between the sixth and seventh thoracic vertebrae in his spine.
According to Budenholzer, the latest injury stems from something that happened at the Bucks game on April 8 in Detroit. Hill has not played since.
“We’ll see how it progresses over the next day, I’ll say a few days or more,” Budenholzer said.
Hill, 35, played 54 games during the regular season and averaged 6.2 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 23.2 minutes.
Jevon Carter Hill filled his place in the rotation with the Bucks winning 93-86 in the first game and scoring three points in 10 minutes. He contributed twice to the rebound in nine minutes Wednesday.
