For forty years, the Blanquefort Family Association has been offering English courses. This season, they will once again be hosted by Patricia Migne. These sessions are held on Mondays from 6:15pm to 8:15pm, Tuesdays from 9am to 11am and for retirees from 11am to 1pm at 18, rue de Lestaing.
“These are English conversation workshops, oral exchanges around a theme. It’s an open, interactive discussion, no subject is off-limits,” explains CFA English teacher Patricia Meigne. Patricia Maigné announces the theme a week before, in case some want to think about it, on the big day, provides essential vocabulary and asks several questions.
Diversions are welcome
For example, the theme of food can lead to discussions about restaurant menus, favorite foods, allergies, recipes, food waste, eating disorders, diets, the food industry, and world hunger. The theme is delivered over a few weeks. There are so many distractions that this is not a problem, on the contrary.
Each session starts with what people have been up to over the past week. This is not an academic course. “I am a teacher and a helper, because I respond to each statement and restart the discussion, if necessary correct the pronunciation, a word, a grammatical point or the conjunction of a tense. At any time, in an excellent, caring and respectful atmosphere, a learner can ask for a clarification on a difficult point. .
Patricia Maigné prepares CPF (Personal Training Account) files for adults and offers private face-to-face and distance learning courses.
Registrations at the start of the school year on 06 32 32 18 40 or at the Blancford Family Association stand on September 7th from 2pm to 6pm.
