In Croisty, Raymond-Queudet School is certified English

Raymond-Queudet School in Croisty has been awarded the English Plus School Certificate by the National Department of Education. “Our teachers have two years of training to offer this unique option in the Lorient Nord district. So the school program is adapted accordingly,” explains director Emmanuel Rongemail.

Correspondence with the Finnish School

Its aim is to increase students’ fluency in modern foreign languages, an educational method of teaching all or part of a subject in a foreign language through EMI procedures. Its aim is to enable students to acquire practical language skills by immersing themselves in real communicative situations through language awareness from kindergarten or events in a modern foreign language. But also a correspondence with a school in Finland to develop students’ European citizenship by participating in and creating an eTwinning project.

“English is compulsory from CP, 1 hour 30 minutes per week. However, all students are immersed in the English language as all life and classroom instructions are in English. Apart from this, the kindergarten teacher conducts 4.5 hours per week of language awareness exercises in his class, of which 1.5 hours are reserved for English only. Cycle 2 (CP to CE2) and Cycle 3 (CM1 and CM2) students are not excluded because the number of hours in English is 5.5 hours per week for Cycle 2 and 7.5 hours per week for Cycle 3.
