Galaxy Watch 7: Price, availability and how to pre-order

Samsung not only announced new foldable phones and wireless earbuds at its Samsung Unpacked event on Wednesday, but it also announced a new lineup of wearables: the Galaxy Watch 7 ($299.99), Samsung Ring ($399.99), and Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra ($649.99). While you’ll have to wait until July 24 for official availability, all of the wearables are available for pre-order now in the US.

The new wearables target a broad audience, from casual users to outdoor athletes. The Samsung Galaxy Ring is a sleek wearable that’s also a more discreet health tracker, while the Galaxy Watch 7 is a more capable smartwatch with new sleep apnea detection capabilities. However, it’s not as feature-packed as the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra, which, as my colleague Victoria Song wrote in her hands-on impression , is essentially an Android version of the Apple Watch Ultra. Samsung says it’s designed for the active outdoor type, and it’s its most rugged watch yet, replacing the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro as Samsung’s premium smartwatch.

We’ve posted hands-on impressions of the Galaxy Watch 7, Galaxy Watch Ultra, and Galaxy Watch Ring and will be sharing our reviews soon. In the meantime, here’s everything you need to know about each new product and all the relevant info so you can pre-order today.

Powered by the new 3nm Exynos W1000 chipset and equipped with new dual-frequency GPS, Samsung says the Galaxy Watch 7 is faster than its predecessor and can track your location more accurately. As we noted in our hands-on review, it’s not a huge upgrade, but it’s worth noting that it now supports FDA-approved sleep apnea detection features — an industry first.

Samsung’s Galaxy Watch Ultra offers the same health features as the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7, but is geared toward more active, outdoorsy types like divers, runners, hikers, cyclists, and more. As I mentioned, my colleague Victoria describes it as similar to the Apple Watch Ultra but with a square body.

Samsung says this is its most durable watch yet, with 10ATM water resistance, an IP68 rating, a titanium body, and a sapphire crystal lens. It also offers more fitness tracking capabilities, like a multi-sport profile, a loud emergency siren, a functional power meter for cyclists, and a race feature so you can compare your past and current performances. There’s even a quick button for easy access to the workout app and other features like a flashlight.

After spending a short time with the Samsung Galaxy Ring, my colleague Victoria Song said the smart ring looks very promising. She has yet to test its software, battery life, or tracking data accuracy, but so far she’s been impressed. The wearable ring is stylish with a well-designed and easy-to-use charging case, while the fact that it even works with a double-tap gesture is a nice touch.
