Taylor Swift had an emotional performance on Saturday night.
While on stage during her recent show in Liverpool, the “Fortnight” singer, 34, was seen holding back tears.
Inside Anfield (which seats up to 60,000), the singer performed “Champagne Problems” and looked visibly impressed by the crowd’s reaction.
After a long round of applause from the crowd, Taylor picked up her microphone and said: “It’s a real honor to play in front of a crowd like this. The fact that you would do that for us, I love you so much Liverpool. Thank you.”
Swift also celebrated her 100th show on the Eras Tour earlier this week.
The next stop on the Eras Tour is Cardiff on Tuesday. She also has shows in London from June 21-23.
Swift’s emotional display comes after her ex-boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, broke his silence more than six years after their separation. The couple officially called it quits in April 2023.
“I hope that anyone and everyone can empathize and understand the difficulties that come with the end of a long, loving, fully committed relationship of more than six and a half years,” he told The Times in an interview published on Saturday. “This is a difficult thing to navigate.”
He added: “What is unusual and abnormal about this situation is that after one week, the matter is suddenly in the public domain and the outside world is able to have its say.”
Alwyn, 33, went on to note how the fame of their relationship played a larger role in their breakup by bringing it up in the media “where it is then dissected, speculated upon, and pulled out of shape beyond recognition.”
“The truth is that until this last point, there will always be a gap between what is known and what is said. I have made peace with that,” he said.
Alwyn also clarified that he had never visited The Black Dog pub in London, which Swift referenced in her latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department.”
While he enjoys “seeing friends, traveling and going to the pub”, the actor also said he has “never been to Vauxhall”. The pub is located at 112 Vauxhall Walk.
In “The Black Dog,” Swift, who has since publicly moved on with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, sings about seeing her ex “walk into a bar called The Black Dog” to “poke new holes in.” [her] heart.”
The lyrics have since led to the pub becoming a landmark for Swifties and the bar has been selling out ever since Merchandise inspired by the song.
