A millionaire investment banker was filmed punching a woman in the face, causing her to fall to the ground, on the streets of New York on Saturday night.
Jonathan Kay, 52, was seen delivering a vicious swipe at an unnamed woman in Brooklyn, where he lives in a $4 million four-bedroom townhouse in the expensive Park Slope area. It is unclear what sparked the confrontation.
Kay serves as a Managing Director at Moelis & Company, a leading investment bank with offices in Midtown Manhattan.
In the clip, the woman appears falling to the ground from the force of the punch, while one of the spectators rushes to help her to no avail. Others are heard looking at Kay calling Kay an “ahole” and telling him to “fuck himself” – briefly attracting his attention before he suddenly turns away.
A bank spokesman confirmed to DailyMail.com that Kay was the man in the viral video, and said it had already sparked an investigation.

“We have learned that one of our employees was involved in a serious incident in Brooklyn on June 8,” a Moelis representative said, as the 12-second snippet continues to gain more attention online.
“We take this matter seriously and are investigating,” she added.
According to a profile on Moelis’ website, Kay earned his bachelor’s degree from Tufts University and graduated cum laude from Duke University Law School.
Another profile detailing Kay’s accomplishments, at the Jewish Grad organization, pays tribute to his 10 years at the company, during which he assisted Moelis. To become a market leader by executing over 125 transactions representing over $100 billion in collective enterprise value.
Prior to that, he served as Director of Marketing at CitiGroup – the third largest banking institution in the United States.
In his current role, he oversees 10 sectors within Moelis’ business services division, where he manages a “dedicated team of bankers and…a broad network of relationships with both strategic firms and private equity investors,” the bio says.
He adds how he also serves on the company’s management committee, demonstrating his standing in the financial sector.
Moelis is already investigating the incident, but as of writing, it remains unknown whether or not the matter has been reported to the NYPD. DailyMail.com has reached out for comment.
Meanwhile, the footage is short and shaky, but does include a moment in which Kaye turns to the camera after knocking the woman down.
Kai comes out carrying a bag in one hand, with a wet spot on the back of his jacket.
In one clip with a caption over the footage, one user wrote: “This man punched me in the face today and broke my nose.” [He also] I caught my friends[sic] Arm…can someone find it?
The context of the strike remains unclear.
