In her original video, the Princess of Wales explained that when she underwent abdominal surgery in January, her condition was initially thought to be non-cancerous, but “tests performed after the procedure found cancer.”
She continued: “Therefore, my medical team advised me of the necessity of undergoing a course of preventive chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of this treatment. This was of course a huge shock, and William and I did everything in our power to address and manage this matter privately for the sake of our little family. And as As you can imagine, this took time. It took me some time to recover from major surgery in order to begin my treatment.
“It's been a very difficult couple of months for our whole family, but I had a wonderful medical team who took great care of me, and I'm so grateful for that,” Kate continued. “I become stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal in my mind, body and spirit.”
The Princess also thanked Prince William for being a “wonderful source of comfort and reassurance.”
