Joy Behar criticized the late Queen Elizabeth II for spending 70 years as Britain's longest-reigning monarch Tuesday on “The View” amid King Charles' cancer diagnosis.
Buckingham Palace announced on Monday that just 17 months into the throne, King Charles, 75, will begin treatment for cancer.
Both his sons, Prince William, 41, and estranged Prince Harry, 39, rushed to be by his side.
“I hope it helps with his diagnosis because sometimes, less stress can help,” Whoopi Goldberg said of the royal having the support of his family.
“Poor Charles,” Behar added, agreeing with Goldberg that he had waited “a long time” to take the throne.
“I mean, women have been in this position for, you know, 70 years, which is the longest reign. “I think she could have used some time limits,” the red-headed comedian quipped.
“It's like, why don't you step aside and let Charles have his day in the sun?” Behar continued. “The poor man, he's finally king, and now he's suffering from an illness. This doesn't seem fair. There's something wrong with that.”
Elizabeth, Charles' mother, ruled from February 1952 until her death in September 2022. She died of “old age” at the age of 96.
While Harry may have traveled across the pond to be with his father, a source confirmed to The Post on Tuesday that he and William will not be reuniting.
The relationship between the brothers has been poor at least since Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepped down as senior members of the royal family and moved to California in 2020. But the insider added that William has “no plans” to see Harry as he is. He will return to his royal duties after caring for his wife, Kate Middleton, as she recovers from abdominal surgery.
Charles appeared to be in good spirits on Tuesday morning, as he was seen alongside his wife, Queen Camilla, leaving Clarence House, where Harry was said to have paid a “quick visit.”
