Larry David couldn't “restrain” himself.

The star and creator of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” has broken down. Today show conversation. With Elmo — who went viral last week — and his father Louie on Thursday. When Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb and Craig Melvin delivered it to Al Roker, David went behind the couch, where the “Sesame Street” characters were conducting the interview, and began pressing Elmo's face.

The hosts and Louie were seen in a panic while David also mimicked throwing a right hook.

“Mr. Larry, Elmo loved you before!” Muppet shouted after the retreating comedian figure. “Let's go back to the couch and just talk about how you feel.”

“Larry, you've gone too far this time,” Guthrie warned David, who was off camera. He replied, “Someone had to do it!”

Later, Guthrie and Cotb urged David to make a sincere apology to Elmo. After some urging, the actor conceded: “Elmo, I just want to apologize” — though his sincerity broke when he immediately laughed afterwards.

“Thank you, Larry,” Elmo replied. “Elmo accepts your apology.”

The “Today” hosts had Elmo and Louie on their show to discuss his latest viral moment, which started with what seemed innocuous. Posted by X on January 29: “Elmo's just checking in! How's everyone doing?”

This prompted some of the post's 200 million viewers to pour their hearts out to the mysterious red monster.
