The Raleigh native was crowned Miss Teen America

A Raleigh native was crowned Miss Teen America on Saturday night.

miss North Carolina Teen 2023, Hanley House, and took home the crown at the weekend's competition held at the Walt Disney Theater in Orlando, Florida.

Miss America Teen – The Miss America program's teen division for young women ages 13 to 18 included 51 contestants from across the United States competing in three categories: physique, evening gown, and talent.

House was born in Raleigh and has taught ballet programs across the country, including the Alonzo King Lines Ballet School in San Francisco as well as the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City. She is a senior at Cleveland High School in Johnston County and plans to continue her education by studying architecture and design while performing on the Carolina Girls dance team at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

As the winner of Miss America Teen In the competition, House received a $60,000 scholarship to the school of her choice or a 4-year scholarship to the University of Alabama.

The court included first runner-up, Ohio; second runner-up, Oklahoma; Third runner-up is Texas and fourth runner-up is Kentucky.
