Britney Spears’ estranged father, Jamie Spears, had his leg amputated last month, a source in the pop star’s hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana, told Page Six.

“He had a knee replacement and got a terrible infection from it,” the insider shares.

We hear that Jamie underwent several unsuccessful surgeries before the amputation, which was a ‘last resort’.

His lawyer had no comment.

The news comes two months after Page Six exclusively reported that the 71-year-old was in “serious condition” and had been in and out of hospitals, including a facility for infectious disease patients.

Sources said at the time that Jimmy “lost more than 25 pounds” while dealing with his health issues, which stemmed from a knee replacement in the mid-2000s.

Multiple insiders told Page Six in August that, contrary to reports, Britney, 42, wasn’t thinking about reaching out to her father to mend their fractured relationship before it was too late.

“Britney is on a healing journey, but reconciliation with Jamie is off the table,” a source told us.

The “Toxic” singer became estranged from the Spears family patriarch as she struggled to end the conservatorship he placed her under in 2008.

After Britney called her father “abusive” in open court in 2021, a Los Angeles judge suspended Jamie from serving as conservator before ending the conservatorship completely.

The Grammy winner detailed Jamie’s 13 years of control over her personal and financial decisions in her recently released memoir, “The Woman In Me.”

“I started to feel like I was in a cult and my father was the leader of the cult,” she wrote.

Britney also claimed that her father, an alcoholic, forced her to go to rehab several times and used her success to help her “cash flow.”

Jamie, who has previously denied any wrongdoing, has not publicly addressed the best-selling book.

Britney was also at odds with her mother, Lynne Spears, during her custody battle, but they reconciled earlier this year.

Lynn, 68, was photographed attending her daughter’s 42nd birthday party last Friday.
