We’re now halfway through the NFL season, but the Las Vegas Raiders season is just getting started.
Just days after team owner Mark Davis gave coach Josh McDaniels his walking papers and named Antonio Pierce as interim head coach, the Raiders went on to beat a horde of New York Giants 30-6. Rookie midfielder Aidan O’Connell is finally getting a consistent chance to play and be properly evaluated. Running back Josh Jacobs is finally getting the touches he wants. Wide receivers Tre Tucker, Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers were all part of the master plan. And everyone seemed happier than they had at any point in the season.
So, this isn’t really the right time for a struggling team to take on the reborn Raiders. But the New York Jets can only go where the schedule tells them to, and in Week 10, they’ll play in Las Vegas. Fortune continues to frown on the Jets (Zach Wilson remains the team’s starting quarterback), but they can stop the Raiders’ narrative in its tracks by getting a win Sunday night.
Follow along as Yahoo Sports provides the latest news, scores and updates during “Sunday Night Football” between the Jets and Raiders.
