England’s Wayne Barnes will referee the 2023 Rugby World Cup final between New Zealand and South Africa at the Stade de France on Saturday 28 October.
The most capped umpire on the circuit, Barnes has 110 Test matches to his credit. He made his debut in June 2006 during the Fiji-Samoa match in Suva. He is only the second Englishman in history to referee a Rugby World Cup final, after Ed Morrison, who was in charge of the match between New Zealand and South Africa. 1995.
