Robert Saleh: The Jets played challenging quarterbacks and embarrassed them all

Jets coach Robert Saleh was thrilled with the way his defense shut down Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts on Sunday — and the way his defense played against every quarterback it faced this season.

Saleh praised his defense after Sunday’s win and said every quarterback who plays for the Jets feels “embarrassed.”

Saleh said: “Our defense, as usual, is wonderful.” “For the first six weeks, we played a challenge from the midfielders. I know we didn’t get all the wins, but we embarrassed them all. Just really, really proud of the defense and its determination. I thought Brick and his staff had an excellent game plan, in three corners, and four of our six corners.” I thought our d-line was good in terms of keeping it in the pocket — it’s a handful, it hurts, their line, their receivers, but our guys fought all the way.

So far this season, the Jets have faced Josh Allen, Dak Prescott, Mac Jones, Patrick Mahomes, Russell Wilson and Hurts. Against that group of quarterbacks, they have yet to give up a 300-yard passing game, and they’ve had eight interceptions. To say the Jets are all “embarrassed” might be a bit of an exaggeration (Prescott probably wasn’t embarrassed after the Cowboys’ 30-10 win over the Jets), but the Jets defense played extremely well, against a team with a good schedule and without Aaron Rodgers, and the Jets have every Reasons to be proud of their 3-3 record in the bye.
