Christian McCaffrey’s Relentless Work Ethic ‘Contagious’ to Kyle Juszczyk – NBC Sports Bay Area & California

Christian McCaffrey has established himself as a key piece on a 49ers team that saw its ceiling rise immediately upon his arrival.

However, McCaffrey’s contributions go beyond the gaudy numbers he puts up on the field.

During an appearance on the “Richard Sherman Podcast,” 49ers linebacker Kyle Goscheck explained how McCaffrey’s relentless work ethic motivated other players on the team.

“Christian’s impact goes beyond the 200 yards from scrimmage he gets per game,” Juszczyk said. “Scoring goals in each of the last 14 games in a row. I mean, that’s huge, because at the end of the day, it’s about winning, it’s about putting points on the board, and he’s been a tremendous key part. His stat lines speak for themselves.”

“But actually, the guy that we brought here, the guy works harder than anyone I know, harder on himself than anyone I know. Christian McCaffrey is Christian McCaffrey’s biggest critic, and he’s always going to push himself no matter what the game looks like. Like, even if He had 150 yards, he always feels like there’s something he can get better at, and I think guys just see that when you see how hard he practices and how hard he runs in practice. Man, it makes you say, ‘If Christian’s doing it, I’m “We need to do this. ‘As we like to say, it’s contagious. That kind of stuff is contagious, and it spreads throughout the entire locker room. I really can’t say enough about what Christian has done for this team and what an addition he’s been.”

McCaffrey has scored in 14 straight games, tying Hall of Fame record set by Emmitt Smith for the most goals since 1990.

The dynamic back scored a touchdown in 16 of the 19 games he suited up for the 49ers while recording over 100 scrimmage yards in 15 games during that span.

McCaffrey currently leads the NFL with 510 yards rushing this season, while former 49er Raheem Mostert ties him for the league lead in receiving yards with eight.

While measurable numbers can be put on McCaffrey’s statistical impact, it’s clear that his presence alone has been invaluable to a team with Super Bowl aspirations.
