According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the “Toxic” singer was arrested by the CHP and pulled over for driving without a license or insurance in her car on September 10, 2023.

It’s not clear why the pop star was initially stopped, but according to police, she was driving without a valid license in her possession and was cited for “failing to provide a peace officer with evidence of financial responsibility.”

Of course, these are not arrestable crimes — she was slapped with a $1,140 fine by the California Highway Patrol and must pay by October 24, 2023, which is also the date of her court appearance.

Ironically, that date, two weeks from today, is also the day her highly anticipated memoir, “The Woman In Me,” is scheduled to be released. Fortunately, the pop star won’t have to actually appear in court that day.

We believe Britney’s driver’s license is valid, but she did not have it in the car. Additionally, the singer certainly has insurance, but it has to be inside the car while she drives. Her lawyers will need to present evidence of both to the court hearing.

The documents did not indicate how fast she was driving or where she was stopped.

However, it has been noted that she has been hit with speeding tickets several times over the past few years. In June 2019, for example, she was also arrested by the Venture County Sheriff’s Department for driving at an “unsafe speed” again. Although her driving privileges were revoked during the conservatorship, which lasted from February 2008 to November 2021, Britney appears happy to be back on the road again, despite the charges she may face.
