A video clip circulating on the Internet shows Hamas terrorists kidnapping the Israeli mother and her two young sons.
Horrific footage showed the moment Hamas fighters kidnapped an Israeli mother and her two young sons on Saturday during the sudden attack launched by the Palestinian movement on the Jewish state.
Sheri Silberman Bibas, 30, looked wide-eyed and terrified as she held her two red-haired toddlers — ages 3 and 9 months — to her chest as Hamas terrorists ordered her around her. According to a short clip circulating online.
The family was hiding in the safe room of their home in a village near the Gaza border when armed fighters stormed their home, according to a report.
Silberman Bibas was confined to the room with her husband, Jarden Bibas, and two sons, Kfir and Ariel, when they heard the gunmen firing automatic weapons outside their windows. The New York Times reported.
The newspaper reported that Bibas (36 years old), who was armed with a small pistol while they were hiding, sent a text message to family members during the terrifying attack.
“Love you all,” he wrote.
Half an hour later, he texted again: “They’re coming” — his final message, according to the Times.
Family members fear the worst after the silence. They then spotted Silberman Bibas and the unmistakable bright red hair of the couple’s children in snapshots circulating on social media.
Bibas is nowhere to be seen in the short clip.
The newspaper reported that Silberman-Bibas’s parents, Yossi and Margit Silberman, are also missing and are feared to have been held hostage by Hamas as well.
“I just hope they are alive, and they are together. And I want them home, with me, so I can hug them tight again,” the couple’s niece Yifat Zeller tearfully told the publication.
She described the situation as a “disaster.”
The young family is believed to be just a few of the 150 Israelis – including women, children and the elderly – who were kidnapped by Hamas and brought to Gaza. Government officials said another 900 Israelis were killed by Hamas.
The situation of the kidnapped Israelis is dire, with Hamas’s military wing threatening on Monday that it would kill one prisoner for every Israeli airstrike “targeting innocent civilians.”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed severe revenge against Hamas after the movement launched the worst attack on the Jewish nation in 50 years.
Intense Israeli air strikes since then have killed 687 Palestinians, including children, according to Gaza health authorities, and left hundreds of thousands without homes.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said in a report that more than 187,500 people have been displaced across Gaza since the fighting began just days ago.
Many of the 1,600 dead on both sides were innocent civilians, and thousands more were injured.
