Activision’s FPS juggernaut, the Call of Duty series, may be arriving on Xbox Game Pass sooner rather than later, as a new store message hints at an imminent arrival.

Microsoft changed the gaming industry forever in 2022 with its acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Naturally, after spending such an exorbitant amount of money, gamers are wondering if Activision’s biggest franchises will make their way to Microsoft’s subscription service. While previous comments suggested this was certainly possible, it now seems foolproof.

A leaked post on the Xbox Store may have just teased CoD’s imminent arrival on the platform.

News of this message began spreading on September 24, as Brazilian players noticed a new line of text appearing after trying to purchase a specific CoD game.

A translated message for those trying to purchase Black Ops 2 says: “You receive this item for free with your in-game subscription. Continue to finish so you can use it forever.”

In another case, fans appear to have added CoD Ghosts to their Game Pass library at no additional costs as well. All signs seem to point to an imminent launch of the franchise on the subscription service.

It’s possible that the CoD series is gearing up for an Xbox Game Pass debut before MW3.

However, at the moment, neither Microsoft nor Activision have commented on the news in recent weeks. The last public discussion on this topic was back in August when Phil Spencer advised fans that it takes time to port titles to Game Pass.

“There’s actually work to be done to move games to Game Pass. People think the deal is done, that everything is on Game Pass. That’s not true. It’s going to take some time until we can get games on Game Pass.

For now, we’ll just have to continue to hold our breath and wait to see when CoD launches on Game Pass. Although if this new leak pans out, we may not have to wait much longer.
