Report: The Colts and Dolphins continue negotiating a potential trade for Jonathan Taylor

Even if most teams aren’t seriously looking to trade running back Jonathan Taylor, at the end of the day it only takes one deal.

That person could eventually be the dolphin.

Barry Jackson Miami Herald stating that dolphins are ponies We continued to discuss a potential trade. Miami, per Jackson, has done at least one show. Obviously, this offer was not accepted.

Other teams potentially interested are the Bears and Broncos, Jackson notes. He adds that at least one other team has made a “serious bid” for Taylor.

And with a non-binding deadline of Tuesday for a deal, the key factors remain: (1) What will the Colts charge? (ii) what will the team do for Taylor financially?; and (iii) how will the new team get its ROI so close to the start of the season?

How motivated Taylor is to get out of Indy could become a major factor in securing a deal. If he is willing to accept a deal that his new team considers reasonable, or if he does not insist on a new contract at all, it may be easier to close the deal.

However, what will the new team get? Is he healthy and ready to go, fully recovered from the ankle injury he sustained last year?

There are a lot of issues that need to be resolved in a short time. Ultimately, the question remains whether the various moving parts will come together in a way that makes the Colts, Taylor, and the new team comfortable moving forward.

Whatever happens, it is something that should have happened in March, not in late August.
