Saint-Pierre-en-Agae: Le Rooflard High School welcomes “English immersion” learning camps

In the first year, in July and August 2021The Lab Lyceum Normandy Association offers immersion courses in English at Le Roblard School of Agriculture. Saint-Pierre-en-Agay (Calvados). These courses last one week. Young people are encouraged to speak English to develop their levels, mainly in the form of lessons.

“They forbid you to speak French, including during breaks,” insists Paul Bosley, the association’s volunteer. It’s about closing and disconnecting screens.

“No phone, no screen.”

To be busy, kids get books in English.

According to Paul Bosley, immersion is “the only way to learn quickly”. You must get up at 8:15 am, classes start at 9:30 am, lunch is served at 12:30 pm and classes start at noon and continue until 4:30 pm.

A solid foundation in English

From Monday, July 26, 2021, nine children aged 10 to 14 participated: Aelle, Augustin, Clotaire, Gabin, Ilan, Lise, Lucas, Mylan, Naella. Four days later, they left Le Roblard High School. Depending on the plan and the weather, a visit to Saint-Pierre-en-Aju is possible. Participants, for example, visited Abe Church on Thursday afternoon, July 29th.

There are still seats for the next sessions. From August 9 to 13, eight participants have already registered and two young people between the ages of 14 and 18 are wanted. Applicants should call Close Michael 06 50 40 31 91 to lead the animators team. There will be an interview with parents, another with a young person with a solid foundation in English.
