A problem? A solution! Tesla UK has been offering its Model S and Model X with a telescopic gripper since the RHD (right hand drive) versions were discontinued.
In the UK, Tesla has taken the bold decision not to offer its Model S and Model X with right-hand drive. Customers who have already placed an order are given a choice: to cancel or continue their order. Because apparently, driving in a left-hand drive country with the steering wheel on the left isn’t really practical, is it?
But some intrepid customers brave the hurdles and prefer to get their car in left-hand drive mode. there, Tesla has a little surprise for them that blew us away. There was an unexpected accessory waiting for them in the trunk of their car: The Reacher, a telescope clamp.
This clamp allows you to hold all kinds of things like receipts for example. You see, in England, people drive on the left, counters for drive-ins and other services are located on the right side of the vehicle. But with the steering wheel on the left in the new Model S and Model X, it’s more complicated for the driver to open the passenger window and turn around to grab things. Are you looking at the blackboard?
Admittedly, this isn’t a perfect solution, but at least it makes life easier for drivers who find themselves alone on board. No more acrobatics to capture those pesky receipts! Thanks to The Reacher, they can now take what they need without the nasty wreckage.
