The Simpsons writer who boarded the Titan Soap recalls a hitch each time

A man who has completed four dives with OceanGate, the company that operates the lost submersible Titan, said the ship has lost contact with its host ship on every expedition he has taken.

“Every time they lost touch. It just seems like something baked into the system,” said Mike Reese, a New York writer and former host of The Simpsons, in an interview with ABC News. “I don’t blame OceanGate, but I think I blame Deep Water for that. .”

As a traveler, Reese said he was well aware of the risks. “There is a long-expected release,” he said, “a concession that mentions death three times on the first page.”

Reese completed three dives off the coast of New York, and one to the wreck of the Titanic off the coast of southeastern Canada, as salvage crews search for the five-man Titanic submersible that went missing Sunday morning.

Reese said that during his Titanic expedition aboard the Titan, there were “communication issues” after it landed within 500 yards of the sunken wreck. “We knew it was there, but our compass was working, and we didn’t know which way it was.”

He said his crew was able to find the wreckage after about three hours.

The missing ship, which was carrying its pilot and four passengers, is expected to run out of oxygen on Thursday morning.

A ship lost contact with its deck 1 hour and 45 minutes after it began its descent into the Titanic on Sunday. According to the US Coast Guardwhich said it was notified Sunday evening when the submarine failed to ascend on time.

In a separate interview with NewsNation’s “Banfield” program Wednesday night, Reese said that despite the looming deadline, he thinks the people on board will be in peace.

“There’s something so zen and otherworldly about being on this sub. Being so remote, everyone likes to mention that I slept on the submarine,” said Reese, even though I knew death could come at any moment.

He added, “It’s dark, it’s cold… There’s no furniture, so you’re just a prop leaning against the wall with your legs sticking out.”

“And that’s what I feel is happening in the sub-district right now. People are at peace. They’ve exhausted every option they can think of, I hope.”

Experts said the best passengers could do was slow their breathing and avoid panicking. Although it is estimated that the ship’s 96-hour supply of breathable air is about to run out, some experts have said the survival time could be extended if passengers work to conserve oxygen.
