Detroit – The Milwaukee Bucks are coming off a rare loss in Denver and take on the Detroit Pistons Monday night at Little Caesars Arena, but they will be without Giannis Antetokounmpo and Gro Holiday.
The Monday afternoon recess was ruled out for personal reasons.
Antetokounmpo went on injury report with a sore right knee Sunday after back-to-back games in Utah and Denver. After he was initially considered likely to play against the Pistons, he was ruled out of the game later in the afternoon. This is the first time that Antetokounmpo has reported pain in the right knee since March 6.
The Bucks entered the evening with the best record in the league at 53-21, two games before the Boston Celtics for the top seed in the Eastern Conference. The Pistons are 16-58 worst in the league.
Goran Dragic (left knee sore) is a possibility and could make his debut on the pitch. The Bucks added the veteran point guard in early March.

Giannis Antetokounmo was ruled out with knee soreness
The MVP candidate missed 16y Game of the season for the Bucks, where he and the team successfully treated right knee pain that appeared after back-to-back games in Utah and Denver.
Bucks coach Mike Bodenholzer said the pain was no different than what Antetokounmpo has been able to manage over the course of the year. Antetokounmpo last appeared on injury report with this specific ailment again on March 6 after back-to-back matches.
If there’s a silver lining to this development, it’s that Antetokounmpo isn’t missing a game with yet another injury — he committed a hard foul on his right hand against the Nuggets and has missed games with that injury since he first picked it up on February 16. .
He hasn’t missed a game with knee soreness since dealing with his left knee from January 12-21.
Jrue vacation for personal reasons
The Bucks all-star team was disqualified early Monday for personal reasons. He hasn’t missed a game since March 7 in Orlando. He’s 13y Game of the season missed the feast.
Holiday wasn’t with the team in Detroit and Bodenholzer said he wasn’t sure if Holiday would be able to finish the ride in Indianapolis on Wednesday.
Holiday was 3-for-11 for nine points and had seven assists in the Bucks’ loss in Denver on Sunday.
