Jeremy Renner is walking again after a snow plow accident shattered his legs — Variety

Jeremy Renner’s recovery from January’s snow plow accident appears to be progressing, as the actor was seen walking for the first time in his latest social media update.

The “Hawkeye” star posted a video to his Instagram story in which he walks with the help of an anti-gravity treadmill. Renner confirms in the video that he does all the “walking motion” himself, with the anti-gravity treadmill removing a percentage of his body weight while his legs slowly recover.

“Now is the time for my body to rest and recover from my willpower,” the actor captioned the post.

Renner was hospitalized with blunt force trauma to the chest and bone injuries in early January after he was run over by Sno-Cat, a large snow plow weighing at least 14,330 pounds. The actor was trying to help a loved one out of the snow near his home in Lake Tahoe when he was crushed by Sno-Cat. Renner later revealed that he broke more than 30 bones in the accident, writing on Instagram: “These 30 broken bones will mend, and grow stronger, just as the love and bond with family and friends deepen. Love and blessings to all of you.”

Renner has been using Instagram for the past few months to update his fans about his recovery. Recently, the actor posted a photo confirming that the Sno-Cat involved in the incident has returned home.

At the end of February, Renner posted a video of himself in physical therapy for the first time. The actor was seen rehabilitating his leg by pedaling with the help of a pole-like tool. “Whatever it takes,” Renner wrote on Instagram, a reference to a catchphrase from Marvel’s blockbuster movie “Avengers: Endgame.” The latest video he posted gave fans an update that his physical therapy now includes walking.

Disney announced earlier this month that Renner’s new auto show, “Rennervations,” will begin airing next month. The series follows Renner as he travels the world decommissioning and refurbishing vehicles for new uses.

“I’ve been on this journey for many years, starting in my community building vehicles for people in need,” Renner said of the series. “But a few years ago, I thought, ‘How can I add to that and have a bigger impact on the whole community?'” And that’s what this show does. This is one of my biggest passions and a driving force in my recovery, and I can’t wait for the world to see it.”

All four episodes of “Rennervations” will premiere exclusively on Disney+ on April 12th.
