EPINAC: When English teachers were Elan Chalon basketball players

Epinacois College participated in the Do you speak basket activity launched by the department of Saône-et-Loire.

What’s better than learning the language of Shakespeare during a basketball game? The departmental council of Saône-et-Loire, in collaboration with Elan Chalon and Charnay Basket Bourgogne Sud, presents middle school students with the Do You Speak Basket operation.
This Tuesday afternoon, 40 students from two 6th grade classes at Hubert Reeves College in Epinac benefited from this program. They thus have the arrival of Christopher Manerlaux, who has evolved with the club’s espouses on the banks of the Saône, and Kishon Georges, who is part of the pro staff.
After an hour of practice, apparently in English, schoolchildren from the former mining town asked questions of the two basketball players. Questions in English were prepared with their teacher. The exchange led to a few demonstrations, which took place in a tense atmosphere. For college students, two Salonize players dipped the jersey.
After awarding diplomas and prizes in Ellen’s colours, the afternoon ended with an autograph session.
To formally close the action, the students of Épinacois College will travel to the Colosseum, Elan’s den, on March 31 to attend a meeting between Salonais and their colleagues from Saint-Vallier.
