Language courses resumed

After an interruption due to Covid, Saint-Flo’s Afternoons language courses are looking to resume once the February holidays begin. In the past, the association has organized courses in German, English, Spanish, Italian and Chinese. However, demand dwindled and only English and Chinese courses remained.

Beatrice Morton, responsible for their organization, explains: “New requests are appearing for English and Italian, so we have decided to restart this activity within the association. We will start with English and study the possibilities for Italian. For this language, we first need to find a teacher. »

The English restart is scheduled to return from the February break. Returning to the service, Solène Clech notes: “It is either Monday 20 or Tuesday 21. We will choose one of these days for the courses, depending on what the registrants want. They last for an hour and a half. For six subscribers their cost is around €65 per month. This amount will be adjustable. If there are more students, the amount will be less.

Chinese, elementary level, will be offered again but from the beginning of the school year in September. “For other languages, everything depends on the demands of the public, insists Beatrice Morton. We can even consider early Arabic lessons. »

However, another initiative close to his heart is a multilingual cafe: “At Les Caraquistes, on Saturdays from 10 to 11 am, in the language of your choice, in any case, without regular attendance. , for the joy of practicing foreign languages. Meeting from next Saturday. »
