Update 03/01/2022: Marvel Cinematic Universe and Hawkeye star Jeremy Renner is now out of surgery but remains in intensive care after a snow shoveling accident.
As I mentioned diverseIt is now confirmed that the star has suffered blunt force trauma to the chest and bone injuries as Renner remains in a critical but stable condition.
“Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the wonderful doctors and nurses who care for him, Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno Mayor Hilary Schiff, and the Carano and Murdock families,” read a statement from a Reiner spokesperson. “They are also hugely overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans.”
Original story 01/02/2022: Hawkeye’s Jeremy Renner is in a “critical but stable” condition after he was involved in a snow shoveling accident near Reno, Nevada.
As I mentioned diverse, Renner’s representative confirmed the news and shared that the MCU actor is in good hands.
“We can confirm that Jeremy is in a critical but stable condition due to the injuries he sustained following a weather-related accident while shoveling snow earlier today,” Renner’s representative said. “His family is with him and he is receiving excellent care.”
Officers from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a “traumatic” injury near Mount Rose Highway in Reno, Nevada at approximately 9 a.m. PST on Sunday, January 1.
“Upon arrival, the deputies coordinated with the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for medical transport of Mr. Jeremy Renner via care ride to a local hospital. Mr. Renner was the only party involved in the incident.”
No further details were provided, but the Chief of Police’s Major Incident Investigation Team is “currently looking into the circumstances of the incident.”
Renner owns a home in Washoe County and has had him for many years, according to news 4, The county just had a massive snowstorm on New Year’s Eve and more than 31,000 people lost their power.
Renner first appeared as Hawkeye in the MCU in 2011’s Thor, and was one of the stars of the first Avengers movie. In 2022, he starred in the Disney+ series Hawkeye alongside Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop.
