Spotify Instafest: Forget a wrapped Spotify and share your dream festival lineup instead

If you’ve logged into Twitter in the last day or two, you’ve most likely seen Spotify instvest picture.

They look like this…

or this…

To be completely honest, the first few times I scrolled past thinking it was her actualReal life festival. But after seeing them pop up all over the place, with wildly different formations, I was clicked. Yes, that was another Spotify thing.

instvest is a third-party app that links with your Spotify data to create a fantasy festival collection featuring artists you’ve been listening to on your Spotify account. Apps like iceberg And the festive Do pretty much the same thing.

The main point of difference? Instafest looks really cool. It’s well designed and clean, mimicking the three day style of most major festivals. It also allows you to moderately customize the look and feel of the label.

The app was created by Anshay Saboo, a student at the University of Southern California, who has built a bunch of apps in the past, including one designed to help students keep track of their grades.

How do I create my Instafest?

It’s simple and straightforward. All you have to do is go to Instafest websiteLog in to your Spotify account and voila. Just be aware that the app pulls from your personal Spotify data.

After that, you can change some settings. You can choose the poster style, along with the time period the festival pulls data from to create the lineup.

It looks a bit like this:

Please excuse the lineup. My wife listens to Christian music, and my kids have become obsessed with this guy called TheFatRat for some reason…

You can also hide your username before sharing, if you’re worried about random verification of your account.

My festival is an embarrassment, a complete embarrassment. Your mileage may vary.
