Kim Kardashian’s Sultry, Curve-Hugging Balenciaga x Adidas Get-Up
In the SKIMS mogul upload, she is seen sitting on a couch, posing to show the sideways side of her body and holding a phone with a black bag covering her face. Kardashian wore her long, wavy blonde locks down and parted in the middle for the snap, and seemed to be hanging out in her closet.
For her caption, the style icon who really doesn’t need an introduction kept her message to fans simple, writing, “Hi.” While garnering millions of likes in the process, Kardashian’s photo also inspired many comments of approval and others condemned her for wearing items from a label that’s currently facing backlash for her recent ads.
“Incredible character,” one fan wrote, while another conveyed his thoughts with a plethora of heart-warming emojis. Kardashian has been a brand ambassador and an outspoken fan of Balenciaga for several years now, and her ex-husband West (now known legally as Ye) teamed up for the iconic Yeezy Gap line earlier this year. The fashion powerhouse (along with Adidas) cut all ties with Ye after a series of anti-Semitic comments and controversial statements.
Balenciaga has come under fire for the new ads
In the comments section of Kardashian’s post, several fans urged the mother-of-four to “call out Balenciaga” or “stop wearing” their clothes after a recent ad campaign that didn’t sit well with many.
Balenciaga has since apologized for its controversial ad campaign, which depicted children carrying teddy bears and handbags containing fetish equipment, including seat belts, handcuffs and fishing nets. This then sparked thousands of TikTok, Twitter and Instagram users to use a new hashtag – #cancelBalenciaga this week.
Demna Gvasalia, Georgian fashion designer and creative director at Balenciaga, just released a statement via Instagram about the matter, writing, “We sincerely apologize for any offense our holiday campaign may have caused.” He continued, “Our plush bear bags should not have been featured with children in this campaign. We have immediately removed the campaign from all platforms.”
