NEW YORK – A collection of Volodymyr Zelensky’s “war speeches” will be published in English on December 6, with an introduction by the Ukrainian president.

Last May, the publisher Grosset published in French “For Ukraine,” a collection of about thirty speeches delivered by President Zelensky since February 21, on the eve of the Russian invasion.

Crown, a subsidiary of publisher Penguin Random House, announced Monday that the book will be titled “A Message from Ukraine.” The collection will also include a foreword by Arkady Ostrovsky, Russia and Eastern Europe Editor of the British weekly ‘The Economist’.

“Supporting Ukraine is not a trend, a meme or a viral challenge,” President Zelensky said in a statement published by Crown. It is not a force that spreads rapidly across the planet and disappears quickly.

“If you want to understand who we are, where we come from, what we want, and where we are going, you need to know more about who we are. This book will help you with that.”

Proceeds from the sale of the book will go to United24, which Mr. Started by Zelensky.

The president added that he had selected 16 speeches and hoped they would help readers understand Ukrainians.

A former actor and comedian, he was elected president of Ukraine in 2019. After the invasion of Russia in February he was suddenly reduced to belligerent status, adopting a passionate and defiant posture similar to that of Winston Churchill.
