American guitarist Carlos Santana He recovered after collapsing on stage during a concert in suburban Detroit on Tuesday.
The audience was reportedly initially told of a serious medical problem and asked to pray for the 74-year-old musician, but Santana was treated quickly and was seen waving to the crowd as he was carried off the stage. He was taken to a local hospital for observation.
He later thanked the audience for their prayers, adding on Facebook: “It’s okay. I forgot to eat and drink water so I became dehydrated and passed out. His manager said Santana also suffered from heat exhaustion. A concert scheduled for Wednesday night has been postponed.”
In December, Santana had to undergo a surprising heart operation, and canceled a series of shows at his Las Vegas residence. He returned to live performance in January.
