The 2022 US Open is wide open with a leaderboard loaded with past major champions and rising stars. After a chaotic third run that saw Will Xalatores and Matthew Fitzpatrick take the lead, we should be ready for an action-packed finish on Sunday. In fact, seven different players had at least a share of the lead on move day, and that’s something that could definitely play into the final round.
Zalatoris 3-under 67 on transition day was the best round at The Country Club in Brooklyn, Massachusetts, on Saturday, a day that saw only seven players finish on equal footing in a significant change from the most advantageous scoring conditions in the first two rounds. . Zalatores and Fitzpatrick will be put to the test on Sunday with the previous procedure involving US Open champion John Ram who started with just one shot and 2022 Masters champion Scotty Scheffler two points behind the leader. Ram will play in the penultimate group with local favorite Keegan Bradley, while Schaeffler will be involved just before that with Adam Hadwin.
Ten different golfers will start Sunday within four shots of the lead, including Rory McIlroy, who sits just three players behind at one point. As such, Sunday prepares for a great finish to the National Golf Championship.
