|Less than a week after leaving his longstanding MD role at Publishers Australia associate member company Creative Folks, Publishers Australia has appointed Matthew Green as the new General Manager.
Chairman, Geoff Hird said, "Matthew has been a long time supporter of the association and has experienced firsthand the benefits of both membership and sponsorship. Add to this 20+ years working with publishers on their ever changing technology needs, and proven operational and business management skills."
The General Manager will be responsible for developing member services, growing membership and increasing PA's industry profile. Key events in 2012 include a Media Sales Roadshow across three states in March and Magazine Week and the Excellence Awards in November.
Publishers Australia has significantly raised its profile in the past two years, via a deepening alliance with the Magazine Publishers of Australia (MPA), the successful launch of Magazine Week, the gala evening Excellence Awards and the inaugural Media Sales Roadshow which is set to sell out in three states next month.
Accepting his appointment, Matthew commented: "Publishers Australia is a strong, recognizable industry brand, and it has been my pleasure to have supported the association over the last four years. I am very much looking forward to the challenging and deeply rewarding opportunity this role offers.
"Initially I will look at ways to add value to the member experience and work towards ensuring that Magazine Week 2012 is an even more successful event for the whole publishing community than it was last year."
Matthew will commence his role as General Manager of Publishers Australia on March 19, the week of the Media Sales Roadshow. His first formal task will be to run the 2012 AGM on March 30.
