|Two new women's titles - Elle and Women's Fitness will launch into the Australian magazine market in a joint venture between publishing heavyweights ACP and Hearst Corporation one of the largest publishing companies in the world.
As reported on award winning website Mumbrella, Elle and Women's Fitness, licensed from Dennis Publishing in the UK's, arrival is likely to make it even tougher for News Life Media to launch Glamour into the Australia women's market, a plan that was put on hold when the global financial crisis struck.
Both titles will be published monthly with brand extensions online and in mobile.
Elle, a fashion-focused monthly with international editions in 43 countries, is to go on sale in Australia in the autumn of 2012.
ACP's MD Phil Scott said: "Elle is a magazine brand that is right for our times - for readers and advertisers. It uniquely covers women's fashion, beauty, health, lifestyle and entertainment from an inspirational and achievable perspective. Its mixed and balanced content is accessible from both a global and local perspective.
Women's Fitness is targeting 25+ female fitness enthusiasts with content on workouts, training tips and nutrition. The title will be published monthly, and will be complemented by an iPad app, website and mobile app.
The title will sit alongside Good Health, Cosmopolitan Health and The Australian Women's Weekly health annual in ACP's women's health portfolio.
Scott said: "Women's Fitness has proven to be a successful newsstand and digital brand in the UK and is currently the fastest-growing health and fitness title in that market with its mix of practical exercise workouts and nutritional programs."
