Open Letter and Important Invitation to Publishers who Mail Magazines Using Print Post

Over the last 3 years D&D Mailing Services has conducted several Forums in conjunction with Australia Post in relation to the PrintPost Service.

 

Important steps have been made through this Forum as it has provided the opportunity for customers to sit down with the relevant decision and policy makers within Australia Post Headquarters and openly discuss the important issues that directly affect Publishers and customers of the PrintPost service.

 

At the last Forum we were able to effect a change to the draft proposal of a 9% increase and through these robust discussions the result was to minimise the increase to an weighted average of 3.1%. We were also able to reverse other changes to the sortation minimum requirements which would have resulted in a further 4-5% increase in bottom line cost.

 

It also gave Australia Post a better understanding of how Publishers and customers of the PrintPost service operate and rely on Australia Post to provide an even playing field and a commercial balance in dealing with this service.

 

These forums have been rewarding for both customers and Australia Post alike.

 

Since the last Forum Australia Post has gone through some major structural and personnel changes. The letters Group within Australia Post Headquarters in particular has made wholesale changes within the PrintPost product area.

 

Therefore there is a new and fresh look at this service and a willingness and a focus on listening to the customer and their needs.

 

D&D Mailing Services in conjunction with Australia Post is now organizing another PrintPost Forum to be held in July both in Melbourne and Sydney.

 

This Forum will be exclusively to discuss the PrintPost service and provides the opportunity for Publishers and other customers of this service to get along and provide a clear message to the policy makers of the service of the needs and issues that need to be supported by Australia Post for all parties to grow their collective businesses.

 

The issues that will be discussed at this Forum will be centered around pricing, the contents and flexibility of the service to enable publishers to communicate with their customers without current restrictions.
