|Publishers Australia (PA), the magazine and now representing the digital media industry body has appointed Claudia Sagripanti as the new CEO who takes on the brief to continue the strong growth path the association has forged over the past 18 months.
"The association is set for a great year in 2011 on the back of recent announcements concerning the MPA and the inaugural Australian Magazine Week, and I am looking forward to working with a very active Board and support team to continue to deliver a broader range of benefits and services for members." Ms Sagripanti said this week.
Sagripanti comes to PA with a wealth of media, marketing and business management experience. Most recently she was Director of Mobile Communications at GroupM for two years and was GM Events at the Australian Direct Marketing Association (ADMA) for a similar period. Claudia was also GM of Conference and Events company Terrapinn in the late 90s, and has been a Board member of the Australian Interactive Media Industry Association (AIMIA) for the past few years and regular speaker at media industry events.
The CEO role attracted great interest and a high level of applicants which made the task for the Board a very difficult one. PA Chairman, Geoff Hird commented, "We were impressed with the calibre of applicants, and we are very much looking forward to Claudia taking on the CEO role. We believe she has the right mix of experience, and an enthusiasm for the industry that will help drive Publishers Australia and the profile of magazines and digital media to a new level."
Ms Sagripanti will step into the role with an initial focus on membership development, the new alliance with the MPA and further developing plans for Australian Magazine Week.
