|In August 2009 Publishing Edge reported on the split between ACP and the Magazine Publishers of Australia.
This week ACP Magazines announced it has decided to re-join the peak Industry body. This news comes on the back of the appointment of Phil Scott as the new Managing Director of ACP Magazines.
On his appointment he commented; "There's plenty of work still to do as the media landscape transitions to the digital age, but magazines are part of my DNA and I am a great believer in the future of print as part of an integrated media world."
Managing Director of ACP Magazines Australia, Phil Scott, said it was time the publisher lent its weight to the association.
"There is a great story to tell on the vibrancy of the magazine business and I believe ACP can and should bring its considerable resources to bear, helping the MPA to tell that story," he said.
The association will now have the support of all the leading consumer magazine publishers.
Nick Chan, MPA chairman, said; "We are thrilled to have ACP Magazines back in the MPA and we look forward to working with all the member publishers on new initiatives to promote magazines. Now more than ever, the value of engaged consumers willing to purchase their favourite magazines needs to be communicated."
