Transform Magazine to promote young SA artists.

08 Sep 2009

Transform Magazine has launched a new initiative to promote young South Australian artists.

The initiative will see one artwork photograph published on the front cover of new home improvement magazine Transform Magazine each issue, from issue 2  (January 2010) onwards.

Transform Magazine Editor and Managing Director Bek Schapel, a current participant in the South Australian Young Entrepreneur Scheme (SAYES – run by Business SA) and a former student at the University of South Australia’s South Australian School of Art, says “This is a key opportunity for young South Australian artists to have their work published on the front cover of a magazine that is distributed to 100,000 homes within Adelaide.”

“It is important for the artwork featured to relate in someway to the idea of turning a house into a home.”

In addition to their artwork appearing on the front cover of the magazine, each featured artist will receive a quarter page editorial about their work.

Entries are open continuously to artists 30 years and under at the date of entry submission, with professional photographs of artwork to be forwarded in a low-resolution format initially to transformmagazine@sainformer.com with the artists name, age and contact details included. An artist statement relating to the artwork should also be included.

The first issue of Transform Magazine is released in October 2009.
